In reply to Joan Fowler’s welcome in depth, erudite albeit brief review of ‘Phoenix Rising’ – I think it’s worthwhile noting why my three sculptures were installed in ‘non-places’ both inside and outside the gallery space. They were sited in unmapped places, areas ignored on gallery maps i.e. over a portico and next a ventilation shaft. The sculptures- imagined landscape habitations – reference problematic areas of planning, housing and the inventivness of Dublin’s homeless population in finding spaces to sleep. Yours
